Jose Costas Contempo Ballet offers a diverse array of Community Outreach Programs designed to meet the needs of participants of all ages, backgrounds, and dance experience. These programs are all based on the California Dance Content Standards for Visual and Performing Arts. A transforming and empowering experience through the arts is the ultimate goal of these educational outreach programs:
Summer Dance Intensive
Contempo Ballet offers a full week of intensive dance training during the summer months, taught by our Company’s Dancers in various dance techniques. Our curriculum is designed to develop a versatile dancer capable of succeeding in the competitive professional dance world.
Educational Dance Program in Schools
Bring Contempo Ballet to a school in your area! Our educational dance programs are specially designed to engage students of all ages and levels with the joy of dance. Professional teaching artists teach a series of dance workshops that culminates in an informal presentation.
(One or two classes per week with a minimum of 8 weeks)
Community Dance Workshops
Designed with the community in mind, our weekend or after-school dance workshops engage all generations in the joy of dance with a fun and enriching communal experience.
Contempo Ballet Dance & Education Performance Series Featuring “Herencia Latina” in 2024
There is nothing as exciting as seeing Contempo Ballet in a live dance performance! Either at our performing venue, a school of your choice or private event, our specially-designed lecture/demonstration celebrating Latino heritage brings to life vibrant cultural and dance elements, engaging the audience in a transforming and educational experience.
Pre and Post Performance Workshops
In addition to performing live for your group, Contempo Ballet Company members can enhance the learning experience by visiting your school and engaging students in a dance workshop connected to the performance.
Master Classes
Want to learn to dance with our unique style? We offer master classes taught by Contempo Ballet’s Artistic Director, Jose Costas, or our company dancers in contemporary ballet, modern, jazz, and advanced Salsa!
